My mother, father, both brothers and I all graduated from the University of Washington. I guess that qualifies as a family tradition. After finding some things I was good at but nothing I really wanted to learn about in college, I finished with a degree in Cultural Anthropology. I took all the science courses required for medical school and had good enough grades to apply, but I was burned out on school, so I moved to Taiwan to “tune in, turn on and drop out”, or something like that.
For ten years I’ve been working as an English teacher, teaching EFL to Chinese school children, and studying wing chun kung fu (my biggest passion – ask me anything about martial arts). Three years ago, I married Julia. Then we started our own English school in Taipei, and I started writing my own curriculum, and then re-writing it, and then rewriting it again...nobody has heard much from me in the last few years
In January 2009, Julia gave birth to our daughter, Lucy.
